Encouraging eye contact in 3 year old

Any tips on encouraging more eye contact with 3 year old. She finds it's so hard to look at people in their eyes when you ask her to...but does do it occasionally on her own accord.

She's other wise healthy and happy is just the eye contact.

Well I wouldn't be asking her to if she doesn't like it OP. Why does it bother you? She's probably just self contained if she's healthy and happy in all other ways.

She speaks and socialises ok right?

Yes she is otherwise very sociable and affectionate. I wasn't worried of autism as I know that's usually the main sign.

I guess it just bothers me because I want her to be polite and make eye contact when she talks to someone.

Do most 3yos not always make eye context?

I think some are quite self contained.

I would definitely take no steps about this. You will just make it an issue that stresses her and make her self conscious. She's only a tiny child and if an adult thinks she is coming across a little rude for not making enough eye contact they will have to get over themselves.

I have an 8 year old with autism who did not have the best eye contact when he was younger. It seems to have naturally improved over the years and is quite normal now.
