Attachment disorder..anyone know about it?

Friends DS aged8 has received tentative diagnosis of this, she knows noting about it. will google but wondered if anyone knew about it. think is autistic spectrum disorder?

thanks dino. wow sounds nothing at all like her son, who is a very bright child aged 8 but displaying some er eccentric behaviour such as loosing the plot if you eat a gingerbread man or cut a cake (this is more disruptive than it might sound) and various 'odd' behaviours at school.

it was a child psychologist at a local clinic, an introductory appointment after school flagged up concerns. i , in my position of knowing nothing really but everything a bit, think he has mild aspergers or similar. this diagnosis seems very different
