Hi all, I have an 8 and a half month old who is trying her best to crawl. She’s getting onto all fours and rocking to and fro but is yet to make any movement, backwards or forwards. I know all babies are different but how long until we have some movement? She’s getting very frustrated! Thanks x

Took mine over two months to go from rocking to crawling

We could be here for a while then! Thanks for your reply.

We had about 2 weeks between rocking and crawling, with a lot of "army crawling" in between. They really are all so different.

You are probably already doing this, but try to encourage it by placing a toy just out of reach. Or something that rolls, like a ball. It's almost easier for them if they do it without thinking.

Hi Amelie they really are aren’t they! I have tried putting a toy in front of her but she gets very frustrated that she can’t reach it and just rolls over instead. I will try a ball instead and see how that goes, her favourite toy is a rattle ball so we may have some progress this afternoon fingers crossed!
