14 year old's journal

My son, who suffers with ADHD, happened to leave his journal out. I know.. i know it's a split world on whether this is rigth or wrong, but there have been a couple of slightly concerning occasions recently where rules have been broken, etc etc... so... the journal:
He says such mean things about his younger sister, cartoons of her with a gun against her head and saying he wishes she were dead... there is SO much more... this is SO hurtful to read... can anyone give me any advice? I will go and get some next week, but wanted to see whether this is.. in any way.... expected?

I wrote some very weird and disturbing things at that age. It was a safe place and way to express myself.

Is he ok in terms of his behaviour ? Non violent?

Not violent. He has been told that his journal is his private place where he can vent, and not be judged.....

I wrote and said much stranger things when I was younger. Keep an eye on his behaviour on the very small chance he happens to be a little unhinged, but I doubt you have much to worry about

Am I right I need thinking that you’ve told him it’s a safe place up for him to vent, read it and you’re now upset by what he’s written?

Agree with previous posters but I’d also suggest making sure his phone and your WiFi can’t search for works like guns.

Yes, that's it. A safe place for him to vent. Yes, it was left out on the floor of his room. I read it. If either of his sisters had read it.....it would have been awkward to say the least.

Well it would have been awkward yes but nobody should be reading it in the first place.
