My DT2 bit DT1 and I banished him to his cot without favourite toys..........

Long story but the short question is........

How do you discipline biting? None of my 3 children have ever done it.

I shouted and told him we don't bit, I don't like it and that he was going to his cot, no toys, door shut. He's been screaming and shouting but is now calm and chattering to himself.

He did it once before, on Tuesday, on my bum (surprised his teeth didn't break ) and it was sore. DT2s arm is very sore.

I'm still mad at him. But now do I just carry on as normal? Not mentioning it again?

one of mine was a biter - it is horrible - and I am sorry to say it lasted quite a while too. He only ever bit his brothers (that was bad enough).

I used arnica cream on the bite - a good way of giving attention to the bitee.

And I removed the biter's favourite toy to a high shelf for an hour or two - with clearly stated reasons. And then told them both that biting was not allowed because it hurt.

If I were you I would remind him why he was in his cot when you let him out.

Thanks throck. Good idea, I will put his favourite toy somewhere visible but unattainable for a little while. I need to do something that sticks in his head.
