2 year old playgroup worries

DD was 2 in October and had her first morning at playgroup. ONCE she realised I wasnt there she got really upset and I had to go and pick her up. The playgroup said to do an hour a day until she settles but is there anything I can do to help her? Was anyone elses child upset and how long did it take for them to get used to it?

Is it like pre school? So she will be doing 3 hour sessions every day? Ds went off to pre school very easily at 2 but after a while we had a few tears at drop off. I was just very enthusiastic about him going, didn't linger too long at drop off (quick kiss and then off)and was very clear about when I was going to come back. He got over it very quickly. I think they're right to say to do an hour or so a day u til he settles.
