My DS, 6 mo, is a reallly good, sleeper, on a 7 to 7 routine, but has started waking bang on 6, every morning, and won't go back to sleep!

any tips on getting him to sleep longer/go back?

black out curtains

My DS has woken earlier the past few days. We have a blackout blind AND blackout curtains so this is not the solution for us. Will watch with interest...

yes ds2 (8 months) has too! anytime between 5 and 6.30, tis bloody awful! we too already have black out blinds.

ds1 did the same at this age, it lasted about 6 months and then stopped so fingers crossed!

thanks for replies..

you know the way you feel more awake as summer comes, I wonder if it's just that and I'll have to grin and bear it, and accept to get up myself at 6.30 (he's happy to coo till 7 in his cot but it wakes me up cos he's in our room). don't want to do blackout as it's quite warm where we are and he gets too hot in the night anyway.

I did enjoy sleeping till 7 sometimes though! Grrr!

My DS is much older, 3.5, but he did this last summer and again recently.

We brought his bedtime forward to compensate because we just couldn't get him to sleep longer in the mornings (with blinds, etc).

It might not be the same thing with your LO tho.
