My baby girl weighs 16 pounds and eats a lot (formula only since 6 weeks but always ate a lot) It seems like milk doesn't satisfy her for long even though she gets 7oz portions. She is eyeing everyone who eats and looks like she wants solids already!
I am so proud of her but also very worried that something is wrong with her appetite, it can't be alright to weigh this much? NHS Doctors say she will burn it off when she starts crawling but I'm terrified how big she will be till then. I struggle a lot with carrying her around already, she is still so young she needs to be held and rocked in my arms. Do you think she is ok or should I go privately for check up?

It depends. Is she following her weight centile? Is she very tall?

As pp said, is she following her centile line and is she proportional for height and weight? My dd is also 9 weeks and weighs about 13.5 pounds. She's 91st centile for both weight and height, so a 95th or 98th centile baby would be bigger still but still normal if you see what I mean.

I always hear they can't overeat as they throw it up if they take too much. And they're not really interested in solid food if they watch you eat, they're just curious about everything and follow movement.
