22 month old rejecting daddy - help!

Whenever I'm around DS has started to become very attached to me and not want DH around at all. DH looks after him three days a week when I'm at work and he says that everything is fine then, it's just when I'm there. Does anyone have any experience of this and what I can do? Thanks

i dont really have this experience, however, i am at home with dd all week and she definately favours her daddy when he is around, wants him to do stuff for her etc, although i still have to put her to bed, grrr. We think it would be the other way around if i were working and he at home, which he would love btw.

Yep we're going through this with DD2 (2.2) and went thru with it with DD1. Its a hard period really, for all I think. It does get easier. We've just worked out its when she's overly tired or feeling unwell. I've also started to get harsher with her and not giving in all the time when she wants attention/affection because I was just playing into her hands and making it harder for DH to bond with her and this has helped. They're not perfect together but they're finding a little common ground. It will get easier but IME it may be a couple of months yet.

My 2 yr old dd went through a similar phase at the same age. Now she's on a 'Daddy' phase and walks around saying 'daddy cuddle' all day long.

He'll come around. Its just a phase. He might even go through a phase where he only wants daddy.

I am a single parent and although dd sees her dad a lot there was a time where if we were both around she always wanted me. Fine with him on his own but definately a mummy's girl. Anyhoo, by 2 - 2.5 she kind of grew out of it, for the moment anyway, she is 3 now. She is much more even-handed with both of us and will sometimes chose me, sometimes daddy, I.e. to take her to the loo or something.
