My grandson is just over two, a smiley, friendly child, but. He doesn't speak or attempt to speak. He doesn't even babble much, just the odd sound here and there. His hearing is, apparently fine, but he's now being referred to speech therapy.
I have no real knowledge of speech therapy, my children all spoke early (and a lot), so I don't know if it's comparing him to them (his father, my son, was talking well by two). What will they do? And how can I encourage his talking? I don't see him more than about once a month, but are there any books or anything I can read to help?
