They began to talk ?

Began to walk ?

My 18 month old isn’t doing either. The GP and health visitor have both said she’s mentally capable just taking everything in before she does it.

If one more person tells me she needs to be walking / talking by now.....please tell me I have nothing to worry about

Ok my daughter did not crawl properly until age 1. Then took her very first step at 15m but wasn’t toddling until 18/19m. At 2.5 she is not running yet, just a fast walk/jog thing.
With talking, i think that is too broad. At 2.5 she can say at least 50words and 3word sentences but her pronouncoation isn’t good and I think she is technically behind. Been told not to worry yet though as she understands so much and she is improving over time.

I had so many friends whose children were walking by 11m and I was so so anxious about it. Keep an eye but try not to stress. I think my daughter was just very careful and she didn’t want to do things until she was absolutely ready! Me pushing her made absolutely no difference.

Both my DH and DSis didn’t walk until 2 years. 18 months is still within the realms of normal as long as she will do things like bare weight, ie stand even if you are holding her hands.

Talking can come later. My DS was talking in sentences at 12 months so when DD decided not to talk until she was 3 it came as a huge shock. As long they can understand what you are saying, she’ll be fine Smile
