Normal behaviour after 8 week vaccinations?

DS had his 8 week vaccinations this morning and didn't take it too well. He threw up after the first bit of the diphtheria drops (though managed to keep down the rest) and cried after the jabs, though I'm sure 99% of babies do that!
Since then he's basically just slept. He's woken crying and I'll change him and feed him but he'll be crying the whole time and fall asleep after a short feed. His nappies haven't been that wet either. Is it normal for him to basically just be asleep the whole day since? I don't think he's had more than 30'mins of alert time today. He's usually a really chilled happy little guy. We've been giving him the infant calpol as recommended so he's had 2 doses of that.
Can you tell that I'm a FTM?! Blush

It could be normal but I’d keep an eye on his temperature and how he is and if things get worse, I’d call 101.

Will do @EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic, thank you. His temp was 37.3c so higher than normal (he's normally about 36.4c). He just had a good cry for about 30 mins whilst feeding on and off but is asleep again now.
Does anyone else have any experience of this?

We've had a few smiles off of him since I last posted which is good but I'm not feeling confident for a good nights sleep!

Has anyone ever given their 8 week old a 4th dose of calpol after the vaccines? He had his recommended third dose at 7:30pm so he could have another at 11:30pm as per the guidelines but obviously if he seems more himself I wouldn't administer it. Luckily we have no boiler at the moment so the room is nice and cool for him! Silver linings hey...

How did you get on last night?

GimbleInTheWabe · 12/12/2017 15:39

@EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic it was better than expected but he slept in my chest all night as he'd cry when he was put down in his cot. Thanks for asking Smile he's still a little unhappy today and only smiling as his daddy, none for me! So I think he's still holding it against me that I let the nurse jab him. We've not given him anymore calpol though, just the 3 doses yesterday and he's still feeding well so hopefully by tomorrow he's forgiven me and is back to his usual happy go lucky self. Also his temp had gone down as well to 63.8c so fx he's on the mend.
