Any Aspergers parents out there?

Can any of you tell me from experience how long the diagnosis takes / brief outline of the process?
Also anyone ever heard of a 4 hear old being diagnosed with Aspergers? What support would you have appreciated? Thanks xx

My friend's son has just been diagnosed at age 5 - apparently it's now high functioning autism, not Aspergers any more. Just thought that might make it a bit easier if you're looking things up etc. Hope you find some reassuring and helpful things.
