Does it really matter if ds wont stand up to wee?

Ds is 3.9 and has been fully toilet trained for well over a year, the thing is though, he just point blank refuses to stand up when weeing and always sits down, does it really matter? We have tried everything to encourage him to stand up : ping pong ball in toilet, watching daddy etc he gets really upset and screams that he wants to sit.
I have got a bit of a bee in my bonnet about it although I know that in the grand scheme of things as long as he goes that is the main thing.
Am I being daft to worry about this??

umm, NO!!!! He will probably start doing it at some point (when he goes to school maybe?) and if not then at least he won't piss on the floor round the loo!

colditz · 18/04/2007 21:20

it doesn't matter. he will soon do it when he goes to school

nallydoolally · 18/04/2007 21:21

don't worry. i had a boyfriend once (when i was 17) who used to wee whilst sitting on the loo (tmi - sorry )

No, don't stress about it, leave him be! Really.

thanks for replying.
I know you are all right. He just is so adamant though. I think I need to chill and not make it an issue.

I really wouldn't worry. My aunt purposely taught her two boys to pee sitting down as she thinks it is disgusting and unnecessary to pee standing up. She also makes her DH do the same. As far as I know they all pee successfully in public urinals and suffered no lasting embarrasment!
