2.6 year old clingy to mom, cries at preschool drop even after 3 months

Dear mums, I really need some advise here.My 2.6 yr old DD has always been on a clingier side even though she did improve little with age. But she has been crying EVERYDAY at drop off and she says she doesnt want to go to school immediately after getting up from sleep. I have investigated and there is nothing wrong with her school. In fact she enjoys there but takes a while to get settled (she never really has been a social person, she prefers one-on-one interactions).
Should I continue her preschool (she also goes to daycare after that for 3 hours, so its around 6-7 hours away from us)? Should I take her out? I work fulltime. Sometimes I feel I should quit. Any advise?

Hi, my SD is now 3 years and 4 months.

At 2.6yr she was still crying every day at drop-off at day care, sometimes just normal crying, sometimes full-on "how could you do this to me?" wracking sobs. She'd been going there for over a year already at this point and was very attached to the staff, so it's not like it was unfamiliarity or anything!

She transferred to kindergarten just after her 3rd birthday, and of course it was slightly worse for the first couple of weeks, but over the last two months she's finally getting better at it. There's still a bad day every couple of weeks, but even then I usually here her starting to laugh and have fun before I've left the building.

So it was basically the same, but it got better :)

And yes, she was a very clingy baby and is still a real mummy's girl (I'm mum's boyfriend, living with them just over a year, in case this is confusing!)

Thanks for replying. :)

It is so difficult to not worry and get worked up when your kid cries and acts clingy most of the days :(

I hope she overcomes this phase sooner. My heart breaks seeing her cry in school.
