DS (3.5) is hard work

My 3.5 year old is a really good little boy really, we don't have any real issues but yet I am finding him exhausting and hard work at the moment. Is this normal?

Yes I think parenting generally can be exhausting, even parenting an "easy" child.
What is it specifically that you're finding tough?

I'm not even sure really- the messing about before bedtime (it's only 5 minutes or so but it's every night), the inability to occupy himself - he constantly wants to play or be with me which, while lovely, is wearing after a while! The constant demands for food, drinks etc..
Sometimes Not holding my hand properly when out and about near roads...

I think that they can be draining at that age as they're verbal enough to answer back, ask questions and generally make demands on you but not yet mature enough to occupy themselves. My ds is five and I'm finding things are slowly improving. I think feeling knackered goes with the territory though,
