Hi All!
We are a team of engineers/software developers who are also young parents. We had some discussions about biggest challenges when raising a child and came up with a list of potential problems that many parents struggle to deal with:
Psychological/physical/economical bullying.
Unqualified and inappropriate behaviour of educators.
Difficulties adapting to the new environment (moving schools or homes).
Mental wellbeing of a child.
Most children face these problems at some point. It may evolve into serious mental issues if ignored or unnoticed on time: depression, apathy, lost confidence, insecurity that can last for the lifetime, etc. Children tend to hide these problems especially in the early stages when it’s relatively easy to deal with them and prevent their evolution.
We are working on a technical solution that would help parents identify aforementioned problems as soon as possible. It would be extremely useful to hear opinions about the potential of this product.
This is not an ad - we are not offering to buy anything, instead we ask for your assistance in helping to solve the problems for ourselves and number of other parents .
The main idea of the product:
Child wears a bracelet with sensors measuring heart rate and temperature which shows child’s stress level.
Data is sent to the child’s (or person’s who is responsible for the kid) phone, and then to the child’s parents app.
Parents get real time notifications when child experiences high levels of stress. This enables them to identify the source of it and take appropriate actions to prevent it.
We would like to hear your opinions:
Are you facing these problems yourself?
How important for you is it to prevent them? How are you trying to do that and are the results satisfactory?
Do you think this solution could work and be useful?
Do you think children aged 5-12 years would agree to wear such a bracelet?
In your family/close environment at what age do children get their first mobile phones?
General opinion about the product, anything that does not fit in previous questions.
Thanks a lot!
