going rate for tooth fairy

Just spoke to two friends and they said £1 first tooth and 50p for the rest. The only problem is dd has just lost first tooth at a party. She telles me it £2 First tooth and £1 for the rest. That's been told to her at school in the playground, she is young for her class and most in her class have lost teeth. Don't mind going with the highter rate. But then I only have 1 child not like friends who both have three. What is the going rate don't want cause up set in the playground with other parents.

DD got £2 for first tooth and £1 for each tooth after that.

Can I crash and ask if they actually believe in it?
I seem to remember that I DID, but I was reading a story with the tooth fairy in it to ds1 (then just 4yo) and said something about when he loses his teeth and he replied "but the tooth fairy isn't REAL, it's just a STORY".

Now I guess there will be more incentive once he actually LOSES a tooth and has the prospect of cash, but just wondered??

Our tooth fairy doesn't bring money, but leaves her a little charm instead. Some silver, some glass, some just pretty beads - and she keeps them on a thin turquoise leather thong on her bedpost.

I thought it would be nice for her to have something tangible, that she can keep, rather than money.

Charms sound like a really lovely idea, much nicer than cash.

Anyone else on whether they believe? I had never even spoken about it before reading this story so not sure why he was so insistent that it wasn't real.

My dd is 6 and still believes and tries to catch the tooth fairy out by putting teeth in the very middle of her pillows and snadwiching them together,doesn't sound a problem .well she sleeps on the top bunk and tooth fairy in our house is vertically challenged !!! £2 for the front teeth and a £1 for all the rest

£1.00 flat rate, but DS2 sadly has truly TERRIBLE teeth. Completely confounding all who have had misfortune to look in his mouth. And his dentist told him that the tooth fairy gave £2.00 for any teeth he has to take out, which will end up being quite a lot as decay is rampant, and therefore costing rather a lot.

I used to give £1 per tooth until 11 year old dd found her first tooth! Round about the same time she had to have four teeth removed at Guys under general as they never grew properly. She was such a brave and good girl and it was Easter so we decided to buy her a new bike. On the night we came home from hospital she said 'Oooh, I've got 4 teeth for the tooth fairy tonight!' I said, 'We've just bought you a bike, if you think you are getting another £1 for each tooth you've got another think coming!' Magic shattered!

In our house tooth fairy brings 50p for the first tooth, and 20p thereafter

Ours leaves a tiny present nicely wrapped up- a hair bobble, a pretty marble, etc

After his first one ds started shedding like a snake - all the other 5 incisors in a couple of months - so the rate went right down. I think I (oops sorry Tooth Fairy) might still be generous for eye teeth, because I remember how much they hurt.

Thanks everyone went with the £2 and will be £1 for all the rest. I also enclosed a note saying how well the tooth had been looked after and how it was very important to keep us the good dental care with adult teeth comiing. Went down very well. dd was very keen to brush her teeth this morning, not the norm.
