My 9 year old son doesn't seem to make eye contact when talking to people. He does with family and friends but usually will be people he doesn't know as well. Someone could say Hi and ask him questions or try to chat to him and he does answer back but with his head down or looking somewhere else other than at them.
Is it true to assume that if he has aspergers, he would find eye contact a struggle even with people he knows very well?
How can I teach him the importance of making eye contact when communicating without keep reminding him to do it and he may become too aware of this and find it more of a struggle than before!
