I have caught my child put her fingers in her mouth espechially when she is nervous. She gets a bit nevous at night when she is on her own and this morning she had sores on her forehead. We asked her how she did it and wouldnt tell is at first and she said she picked it. She said to help her sleep but we dont know if this is the reaskn. She has bit her two thumbs also at night wich have caused open sores fron her teeth. She has had tonsilitis alot and also wakes up in the bight crying. She also finds it hard to listen to us when we are talking and is always on the go. Just hoping we are not being tough on her as somwtimes when we want to tell her for example not to jump and go crazy on the aofa she doesnt seem to listen is playing with sonething at the time or saying "did you hear that plane?" which can be frustrating as all we want her to don
is understand and so we repet it again which she still seems confused with what we want after. Noises can also get to her and scare her like a plane or sometines loud noises. What could we do to stop her skin picking and chewing and get her to listen without getting distracted?

What could be causing her skin picking? We are thinking of taking her to the doctors.
Each time we have gone to the doctors her ears are inflames but nontreatment needed. Also she has heard noises we havent so im guessing she has tinnitus?

So you need to solve the urge to chew and the anxious feelings around the urge.

Get her a chew toy designed for children who like to chew their hands

www.chewigem.co.uk/shop/

Also try putting on some children's meditation stories. Loads on Youtube. They're designed to help children relax and sleep.

Has she had her ears checked recently?

Yeah they were inflamed again few weeks ago always have been each time we been since laat year but doctors haven said anything or done anything with it yet. Going to take her to have them checked again and ask what we are going to do. Waiting for a sleep machine bacj. Her oxygen was below 96 at 93 at timea in the night with snoring. Dont know if thats waking hee up scared? She had slept walked and snores alot and seems ti wake early and finds it hard to go back to sleep in the morning when she does. Think ill try the youtube and links thanks.

Ask for a hearing test to be done.

Ok will do. Could this be part of the.reason why she chews her thumbs and pick?
