8 year pooing himself

My son is 8 but keeps pooing himself ... he says he doesnt feel it comin until its to late .. hes started hiding his pants i dont know what to do. He doesnt pee himself or the bed .. my mum says hes been lazy and doesnt want leave his games on his xbox .. but im really unsure if it is that .. he eats fine well behaved loves school happy ... should i take him to the doctor ..HELP

Doesn't sound lazy if he's hiding his pants. That suggests shame and embarrassment to me. Ask him how he feels about it when he happens.

Ask him how he's feeling in general. Is something bothering him, has something happened etc.

Does he receive a lot of attention when it happens? Maybe try positive attention. Before he does it?

He may have a stomach or bowel infection.

Yes, GP of course. Most likely there's a physical cause and in any case the doctor is the first stop.

Check for constipation - that started a similar problem with my ds2.

Thanx for all your replys.. i finally got an appoiment with the gp and he said its due to constaption put him on laxotives on monday .. the soiling has got worse hes been off school this week due to it as i dont want it to happeb in school and it upsets him ... i dont understand how laxotives are suppose to help but will continue until the end of the course as the gp said .. i can not see the light at the end of the tunnel am worried sick has this happened to anyone else and will they heloConfused
