DS has a bad attitude!

OK, the title is a bit harsh but that's what DH said!
DS is 6.5mths and all of a sudden is becoming very grumpy everytime he is put down for a nappy change, face wash, etc.
Also, if you take a toy away from him he screams like he's being murdered!
Last night when I bathed him he was fine until he got out of the bath and that was it - the screaming (not crying) started and didn't stop until he had his bottle.
DS seems too little to start behaving like this (to be honest I didn't expect it until he was 2yrs!)
He's happiest when he is sat up and playing, but obviously there are things that we have to do to him/for him which interepts with this and this is when he throws a wobbly.
Has anyone else experienced this or is my DS a toddler in a baby's body?
Advise/reassurance welcomed.
Thanks
Wellsie

Sounds normal, wellsie. Don't fret- the boy just wants to have fun and protests when the fun stops.

p.s. just asked my son (5) if he had any advice and he said: "It's cos he's a stinkin' baby, innit?"

DS (7.5 months) throws some real wobblers as well - I think it's just one of those things.......

DS3 has the most horrendous temper for a baby( he's 9 months) and will scream blue murder for something until one of his slaves......err I mean big brothers have got it or given it to him.

Wellsie, we have the rudest, shoutiest stinkin' baby dd (11 months) too (LOL Scummy).
Particular flashpoints include:

  • us not looking at her 100% of the time when feeding her, playing with her or bathing her
  • not letting her suck (dirty) water out of her flannel at bath time
  • us not bursting into furious applause every time she crawls (new skill acquired last weekend)
  • changing her nappy when she wants to crawl
  • us not letting her chew plastic bags, carpet fluff, knitting needles, stuff she's picked off the skirting boards and leaves that have blown into her pushchair She goes PURPLE and square-mouthed. Totally unlike ds who was a laid-back little man in comparison...sounds like the 4 minute warning.
