Potty training

My nearly 2 year old cries when I put him on the Potty. Any ideas or suggestions on how I can get him used to it?

I set a timer for every half hour, if he sat on it he got a sticker, if he done anything he got two, to put on a reward chart, he earned a fire truck at the end of it. That worked for my ds, my friend used sweets x
