Hi All,
I have a 11 month old little girl. I'm slightly concerned as quite often she will have an epic melt down in the middle of meals. She loves her food and eats everything. The crying is between mouthfuls and swallowing and she arches her back. She even fell through the gap on a high chair with my husband the other day. She was diagnosed with Gerd when she was younger because she used to do something similar on the bottle, but as she gets older the tantrums are less frequent and I'm starting to wonder if it is perhaps behavioural or phycological. As some meals she is at her most happiest. I have showed her pedatrician but they are not interested because she is putting on weight and otherwise healthy. She doesn't crawl, wave or point but otherwise seems to be doing the other things she should be doing, even though I must say is developing a bit more slowly than the other babies I know her age. I have had people say to me maybe she's tired, trapped wind or doesn't like the taste of something. I wouldn't rule out tired or trapped wind but the cry and back arching are really quite intense and make me feel like she is in pain. Has anyone experienced this? Am I just worrying for no reason? My GP had said she would grow out of reflux at about 8 months so I am concerned that this is still happening. It happens about 2 or 3 times a week, always at meals. (Occasionally on formula)
