Is it chickenpox?

Hi, my LB had a handful of red spots appear on his back, the next day a few more on his legs and the doctor said it was early chicken pox. That was 5 days ago and the spots haven't progressed from day 1. No blisters, some seem faded slightly and he doesn't seem bothered by them. Is this extremely mild chickenpox or something else?

My DD had something similar a few years ago. In the end we decided the doctor had got it wrong and it was just a virus. If I remember correctly, it happened 2 or 3 times over a year.

It's possibly a virus, the ones on his legs seem a little red but still no blisters. how long did it roughly last for you?
