Hi looking to see if anybody else has experienced this issue and should I be worried?..... so for the last couple of months, sometimes when my DS2, (19 months) has woke in the night it's like he's had a bad dream or nightmare.... he has what we now call an 'episode' when I get to him he can be just sat in his cot crying and when I go to pick him up he doesn't want me too, I don't have any lights on but it looks as though he is still asleep. I was wondering if he's been woken by a bad dream or nightmare ?? Also it reminds of when people sleep walk - something I used to do. Like they're still asleep but to some extent functioning. However, I do pick him up to console him, and also to try and calm him down - he is next door to DS1 and mindful of not waking him. (My DH works nights so quite often it is just me). I bring him to my room, by this time he is obviously awake, but can be hysterical, he doesnt want to lie down with me and quite often points to my bedroom door. He will be pulling at me whilst all the time crying. I have on a few occasions taken him downstairs only once this settled him. He then wants you to hold him but not sit down ?? On the occasions that DH has been there he has said that he seemed to have a very trumpy bum - perhaps it's some form of wind / digestive problem. This doesn't happen every night, last time was about 3 weeks ago. Once it happensd twice in a week. But I have noticed today that he was exactly the same after waking from his nap this afternoon. Just wondered what anyone thought..... was thinking of contacting HV or GP. Thanks. PS apologies for being so long winded !!
