9 month old self weaning

What's going on?!
My just 9 month old DS has apparently self weaned from the breast Sad Although most places I read on Internet states this rarely happens?
He used to breast feed 3-4 times/day..on 1st waking and then mostly before naps. He's been distracted and not nursing in the day very well for about a month now unless in quiet, dark room when he's sleepy.
Anyway..I night weaned him about 5 weeks ago and all was going well (much improved sleep!)...and he's always had a bottle at bedtime of formula (mostly so DH can put him to bed sometimes). But I'm now on day 3 of no feeds (or hardly anyway).
He's teething and just keeps biting me as soon as he latches Confused
So today I figured he must be lacking in milk/dehydrated so I've reluctantly (in tears) just offered him bottles of formula and accepted our breast feeding journey is over Sad However he's declined bottles too!
Not even sure what my question is?!
Is is ok for him to not have milk at 9 months if he eats well, lots of dairy etc?!
Has anybody experienced this? Is it because I night weaned? Or teething? Or bottle at bed??

DD1 lost all interest in bf around 9 months too, and only had one bottle of milk before bed from then on. DD2 followed a similar pattern. I think it's fine as long as they also have dairy and are eating well, like you say.

It might just be a phase (google 'nursing strike'). I thought DS was self weaning around 10 months but he picked it up again and we're still going at 16 months.

Just make sure if you want to persist that you pump to keep up supply

Oh that's interesting isn't it! Nursing strike! That sounds exactly what he's doing Sad He's not fed at all for 24 hours now and I never seem to have much success with pumping? I have medela pump too but after half an hour I often only have 2-3 oz! But I must have more milk than that surely?!! I EBF for 6months and he's thriving...up until a week ago he was feeding ok. He's had 2 bottles of formula today after I offered boob and he was just declining or latching on but then biting 😫
Thanks for replying ladies, guess I just keep pumping and offering for a few days just to make sure. He wanted it 4am and I hardly have any milk now...typical!! That was my 'settling tool' overnight as well lol! He's a big boy to rock back to sleep 😆

My DS did exactly the same thing at exactly same age. He was gradually nursing less and less until refused at all. Once he started properly eating solids he loved it and started to be less and less interested in a breast. He never took a bottle either.
I have asked a doctor if that's ok for him not having any milk and she said it's fine as long as he is having lots of dairy in his diet.
