appropriate names for private parts?

2yo DS, he's got a willy...what do girls have? Really can't think of appropriate word to tell him!
What do your kids call it?

We just say vagina.

I hear 'front bum' used mostly.

front bum is what DS has started calling it. Vagina seems...i dunno..too formal i suppose. Are there really no other alternatives?

Private parts?

I really don't like front bum sounds odd.
We use mini or some other silly name which is just as weird. One Dd asked what the real name was the other day I was shocked at how hard it was for me to tell her. I mumbled it then changed the subject lol.

yeah. it's weird that willy seems fine for kids but we're all squeamish about words for vaginas. I think i'm going to go with vagina and get over my own awkwardness about it!

My son (5) didn't like 'vagina' so calls them 'lady bits'. So it's willies and lady bits here

I don't like that vagina is used. It's so well meant but anatomically incorrect. It's like calling a penis "scrotum". Points for using correct biological terminology but for the wrong parts!

A girl's external genitalia is a vulva.

Anyway - we say willy and wee wee.
