9mo & poo explosions - help!

DS is a bloody awful sleeper but is specially bad about one night every three when he REALLY needs a poo and hasn't been for two-three days. Lots of wriggling and farting and crying and waking up every 10 minutes all night and will only sleep on me... I am going insane from sleep deprivation as a good night is currently a stretch of 2 hours then up every hour then awake 12-3 then cluster feed to 7am. The giant poonamis every 3 days are also pretty horrific to deal with.

How do I make him poo more frequently? I give him lots of vegies. He hates fruit other than stewed apple, apricots & dates (and I give him lots of stewed apricots in the hope of speeding up the poo). Lots of water at every meal.

I am aware some kids just do this, but arrrgggggh. Has Elizabeth Pantley written a No-Cry Poo Solution?

Anyone? Just starting 3rd night in a row where he will only sleep on me etc. Not sure I can do a 3rd night of literally no sleep.
