How long does your bedtime routine last for?

Just that really. I have two kids DD is2 and DS is 7months and our routine always seems to take 2 hours because DD thinks it's always play time and delays everything. We come up at 7 and sometimes she's falling asleep at 10 even though she was tired and sleepy before 7.

Do you include bath in your routine? Mine takes ages aswell as DD becomes hyper at bedtime. We have lots of putting down and picking back up etc.

It does include bath time as well. DD just seems to want to be cheeky or watch peppa pig. She's not great at putting herself to sleep unless she's on me. I've tried so many times to train her but it never works.

My DD is like yours. Really struggles to get to sleep. DC are 4 and 3 and bedtime starts at 7 and finishes between 8.30-9pm, although DS (3) is usually asleep earlier than that.

Since we instigated a strict rule of DD being put back in bed every time she comes out things have been a bit better, although she still lies awake chatting for ages.

The most important thing I (and DC I think) hold on to is that the bedtime routine is the same every night, and although they try to derail it we all know that after bath is teeth, after teeth it's stories etc...

Last night DD didn't go to sleep until midnight!
