Milk protein intolerance?!

I have 10 week old twins.
I breastfed for as long as I could and I have a dairy free diet as it doesn't agree with me (never diagnosed). Another of my children is lactose intolerant.

Twin 2 has been known as the whinge one and had what seemed like colic since I introduced formula, we tried infacol which brought up wind but he was uncomfortable after every feed and only really settled if he pood or fed from me.
He's sick occasionally and HV thought he has reflux - gp not concerned, discussed at his 6week review.
2 weeks ago we tried comfort milk. His poo became green, very runny to the point every nappy was leaking and he stank of rotten eggs, he had excessive wind too. Having 4/5 poo nappies a day. Gp told me to switch back to previous milk.
After reading up on intolerances I decided to pay more attention to his nappies. They are mucousy which I hadn't really noticed before, not really knowing what I was looking for.
So I spoke to H V. Who advised a special milk, dr said try wysoy, which I did, baby seemed happier, poos looked like they were changing. I had to call gp for prescription and spoke to a different one who advised I should have him on LF milk as it was more likely that.
So today he had 2 bottles of LF MILK - he has woken in pain with a green, mucus poo nappy which smells very bad! And his bottom is red.
I have just fed him with the WYSOY again, as I am sure it must be something else in the milk.
We have a gp appointment Monday to get referred to dietitian.

Does anyone have any experiance of this? Could it be milk protein intolerance??
HE has other symptoms too, eczema, stuffy nose, sneezing,

Sorry it's so long just didn't want to miss anything out.
Thanks for reading

A full day of SOYA. And he still has mucous in his nappies but he is so much happier!

I've got an allergy to Cow's Milk Protein and your DT seems to tick a lot of boxes for that. Half of all people with CMPA also have an allergy to soy as the proteins are so similar so I was a little Hmm when yiu said your Gap had suggested Wysoy.

If DT is no better with Wysoy or the LF milk, you need to discuss a formula for babies with CMPA. If GP is resistant, they sometimes are due to cost, then insist on a referral to a Paed.

It can take up to 6 weeks for the allergen to leave the body. I think if he is seeming better after the soy milk, stick to it, even if he is still having symptoms, it could be from the milk proteins still in his system.

The figures are 1/3 of those with cmpi are also soy allergic. My lo is cmpi but can have soy. Trust your gut feeling & how he is. It sounds like you have seen a slight improvement with the soy so id continue with that. LF is no good if he is allergic to the proteins. If you dont think that's helping there are other milks like nutramigen or neocate.

Hopefully everything will start to improve soon!

Thankyou x
We now have a referral
He got worse on the wysoy so not knowing what to do I went back to the original milk aptamil first and it seems to have settled down a bit. Still mucus and pain but not as bad.
Hoping the appointment comes soon

If the appointment doesn't come soon, I'd phone to chase it up, like everyday Smile
