Breastfeeding at 3 months

Hi there,
Lately my 3 month old is wanting less feeds (I exclusively breast feed) and for less time. She's super happy and healthy, wet and dirty nappies etc... I was just wondering if anyone else experiences anything similar?

Hi lizzie, my daughter (now nearly 10months) because much more efficient at breastfeeding at about 3 months. I was initially worried because she seemed to be feeding less, but she continued to gain weight well etc. I think they just get better at it so don't take as long.

It could be that your baby is still taking in all the milk they need but a doing it quicker as they have mastered their techniques.

Don't worry they will cry if they are hungry so you should be able to tell!

Have a look here which runs through breastfeeding and other things babyconfused.com/breastfeeding-baby-confidence/

I remember 1st baby suddenly having shorter feeds (4 months ish), and also at night feed then straight back to sleep, not needing settled or winded. It became much easier to feed, made night wakenings much easier.
