Hand in mouth

Hi all,

For the last few days, my 20 mo DD has been putting everything in her mouth.
She takes every chance she gets to chew on to random things (tooth brush, pencil...)
Yesterday, her nanny told me she kept putting her hand in her mouth (four fingers at the same time) to the point of gagging.

Could that be because of teething? Did any of your DC do it this late?

Should I be worried about it?

Could she be teething?

I think she is but still doesn't feel normal to me that she put her whole hand in tho ☹️

Her back teeth should be coming in about now. She could just be experimenting though. I seem to remember repeating the phrase "your gag reflex is not a toy" rather a lot around this age Smile

From just reading your thread title I wanted to say 'teething'. My son (also 20months) does this whenever teething. Nearly whole hand in and drool running like a tap. Then have to run after him to dry his sopping wet hand before the sofa gets it!
Try Ambesol or the teething powders and although I'm normally strict with sugar/desserts I've been giving my DS ice cream - melts and cools the whole mouth.
