Who do I get help from for a bad lisp? It's like she chews her words out the side of her mouth. Recently it's become worse. School say they've not noticed it Hmm but is it dentist or doctor or school nurse?
Can I help her at home?
Thanks

So sorry. I would say you should ask your GP for a referral to SALT. Or ask your health visitor if there is a local SALT drop in. Good luck.

I have concerns about my ds who is 9 with a few letter sounds including a lisp. I mentioned it to school and they asked a speech therapist to assess him at school (there is one who covers the schools in our area apparently) but he was within "normal range" so he wouldn't get anything under the NHS. So I contacted a couple of private SALTs who offered to take him on. But my ds was very upset at the thought of a SALT so we decided to leave private therapy for the moment and have a go ourselves by watching YouTube videos. There are loads of speech therapists on there giving advice. Have no idea if we are doing the right thing, but there seems to be nothing else on offer except private therapy, which we will go back to if we get nowhere with YouTube! If you get anywhere I would be interested to hear!!
