DS1 has a pushchair - loves it!

lulumama · 24/03/2007 12:53

DS had a pushchair when he was about 2, he loved piling teddies in it and pushing them about, and covering them with a blanket, and doing sort of nurturing play with them, lasted till he was about 4 ...

DANCESwithaTruckLoadOfMiniEggs · 24/03/2007 12:56

A baby, some fetching pink slippers that were dd's, buggy, also he loves dressing up in dd's dressing up clothes and carrying her bags around (usually with a selection of cars and plastic food in them)

juicychops · 24/03/2007 12:57

thats what i thought lulumuma. ds loves tucking his teddies in bed with blankets and he loves his friend's pushchair so im sure he would love it!

both mine have pushchairs, we have a few dolls and a couple of bottles too (note to the boob brigade it came in a set and ds1 actualy shoves the doll up his jumper to feed!)

lulumama · 24/03/2007 12:59

they are very cheap from poundstretcher, or whatever it is called !

juicychops · 24/03/2007 13:02

Never thought of looking in somewhere like that. I ve only looked in Wilkinsons but my one doesn't have any

I was hoping this was going to be a competitive type of thread because I had high hopes of doing quite well

Do get him one, juicy - I can't forget one little boy in ELC having a lovely time with a blue pushchair and being told "oh gawd, you can't have that what would your Dad say???"

He was 2

juicychops · 24/03/2007 13:07

ahh poor thing. my ds plays with all my 'woman' stuff which is a lot more girly than a push chair

Mine is currently playing tea party upstairs in a flowery dress with straw hat with a big ribbon round it.

allieBongo · 24/03/2007 13:11

my ds had a pram, and my dd is obssessed with thomas, and is after some thomas knickers, which they do not make

madmarchhare · 24/03/2007 13:12

DS is enjoying a tiara and a silver glittery cowboy hat at the moment.
In fact I think my carpet now has more glitter on it than the hat.

CadburyCremeSquonk · 24/03/2007 13:14

He particularly likes handbags and dd2's pink Dora pyjamas.

fortyplus · 24/03/2007 13:19

Over the years some of my 2 ds's favourites have included...
Barbie
Fairy wings
Vacuum Cleaner - though that doesn't really count as dh is more likely to use ours than me!
Push Chair & doll
Doll's house

fortyplus · 24/03/2007 13:19

Forgot Polly Pocket!

shouldbedoingsomethingelse · 24/03/2007 13:21

both my ds's had pushchairs and dolls and always played with DD's things too.

Bought DS a stable set a few years back and got quizzed on the way home as to why I thought it would be suitable for a boy

Mercy · 24/03/2007 13:28

ds has a buggy, he's had is since he was 18 months old and loves taking his bunny, dinosaurs and baby Jesus for walks! He also likes wearing dd's necklaces, bracelets etc.

(we've got 3 buggies actually)

Alliebongo - ds has some Thomas 'knickers' - from M&S.

NeuroticMum · 24/03/2007 13:32

we bought my ds a sizzlin kitchen from ELC which he loves which isn't too girly. At toddler groups he always plays with the dolls and prams and shopping trollys.

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 24/03/2007 13:35

DS2 was bought a buggy by my friend for his 2nd birthday - he loved it! He asked for a doll last Christmas too (which of course Father Christmas delivered!). His favorite colour is pink and at playschool he loves it when they have the 'beauty salon' out.
He is having fun so what does it matter!
As a child I loved my brother's cars...

shouldbedoingsomethingelse · 24/03/2007 13:35

I dont see things as Boys or girls I see things as "oh XXXX would love that"

My DS's just bought 2 necklaces because they liked them )not a flowerey thing obv. A lace with a treble clef on it!

Mercy · 24/03/2007 13:41

I don't really like the distinction between boys toys and girls toys either - when I was a child I loved Meccano which was def. considererd a boys toy!

BigEggLittleEgg · 24/03/2007 13:48

DS loves to play with the doll I bought before he was born to practice nappies on... He hugs and kisses her and squeals with delight when he sees her. He is 13 months.
