What are the best toys for a 5 month old?

Anyone recommend some good things my DD could make use of for a while?

What are the best ones for development?

Definitely a jumperoo my son loves it! any toys that are soft but light up or play noise, rattles! Annoyingly anything noisy Grin

You could even make her a treasure basket and put different sensory items in with different textures. When working in a nursery we made them with items such as a play mirror, soft brushes, pine cones, rattles, teddies etc anything weirdly textures they love!

My baby is that age and loves the Lamaze range of textured toys - in particular the dolly, dragon and knot are favourites. I can just hand her one and she'll be engrossed for about twenty minutes which is brilliant if I need to get stuff done at the same time (cook, tidy, phone calls etc).
