ds is doing the very slow crawling backwards so i think it is time we got the house baby proofed. i was just going to get a couple of cupboard catches and maybe a stairgate at the top of the stairs but that's it. do i really need sockets covers and door slammers etc?

I would get socket covers for the ones in reach. I didn't bother with the doors for DS but found them indispensable DD as DS can't be relied on to close doors carefully.

Also, check your houseplants aren't poisonous and put high up if you don't want to be sweeping up the earth and putting it back in the pot regularly!

Depends on the child. As long as you are watchful, you can babyproof as you go along. Ds is a demon for plugs and doors, so for us socket covers and door slammers were a must.

the only really important thing i could think of was a stair gate on the kitchen door to stop him from going in there if i'm not.
