My DD who is 5 just refuses to do anything I ask of her, whether its accompanied by a polite please or a yell. She is pathalogically shy which I think is her main problem. With people she does not know, she will behave abysmally; refusing to thank them for a service or becoming mute when they ask her name. Just back from hols in Florida, everyone was so nice. But DD just turned her head away when anyone asked her her name or if she needed more ketchup. What will I do with her? She is a good kid otherwise but I dont know who to build up her confidence. If I bring her to a party, she is hiding behind my back until she eventually settles in which could take ages. Any ideas?
