How to toddler proof house from a mini mountaineer!

DD1 (2.5) has started climbing everywhere - moves chairs, reaches up and puts stuff in microwave (no turned off at the wall). Climbs from windowsill to desk to high shelves to get photo album. Scales the heights of the tall bookcase to get stuff from the top shelf, climbs on top of toilet cistern to get to medicine cabinet. This mostly happens when I'm trying to feed or deal with DD2 (11 months). I just don't know what she's going to do next and I think she might really hurt herself. Any advice gratefully received.

You can buy straps to attach heavy furniture to the walls so at least you aren't having to worry they'll be squished if they pull hard on something. Other than that, eyes in the back of your head and as many opportunities to climb outside the home so she gets a chance to get it out of her system?

I'm going to watch this thread with great interest, ds is 22 months and if it's tall he climbs it and if it's small he gets stuck inside it

I have removed all chairs from the dining room because of the scary climbing. I hoped that this would just be a short-lived phase but having seen the age of your DD, Jenkeywoo, I am now worried. DS is 18 months and an amazing climber.

stairgate across kitchen. The rest, well, the more off-limits you make things, the more they want to get at it.

Not alot you can do really. Either keep things v low down, or v high up. Nothing mid-height.

oh dear... my 15 month old has just started to do all this...
