7 week old coughing spluttering at breast

My 7 week old has gone off feeding the last couple of days. I admittedly have a very over active letdown which I am managing by block feeding and expressing a little before he feeds as well as nursing lying down. He still chokes, splutteres and takes in a lot of air despite my efforts and it seems to unsettle him so much that he gives up and doesn't want to nurse anymore. Even when there is no more string letdown he still coughs and splutters. He's clearly hungry but because it obviously causes him pain he doesn't want to feed. It's really stressing me out. What more can I do to help him?

my ds was the same around the 6week mark I couldn't ever feed him led down he had to be almost fully sitting up which for breastfeeding isn't the easiest. have you tried pumping and offering him a bottle and sit him quite far up while feeding and only feeding small doses at a time. My Ds is now 13 weeks and still cannot be fed led down, even tilted slightly back he hates it, he also gulps his feeds which was also a reason he would cough and splat the milk back up but now I feed him 180ml of milk per feed but give him 90ml, burp him wait about 15 then give him the other 90ml it's a pain for me but anything to help ease the pain for the little one I'm willing to try. Goodluck! All babies are different and it's trail and error to what best suits each individual xxx
