do babies have any?! my 9m old will only spend a few seconds at any one thing before moving off... the only thing that seems to hold his attention is the TV. he won't even sit still to watch those baby einstein videos! I'm presuming this is normal behaviour but wouldbe interested to know what other people think......

My dd was the opposite at that age, i.e. would get totally absorbed in things and not hear us when we called her etc. which worried us a lot at the time. But as she's got older her attention span's definitely got shorter, though she loves t.v. and turns into a zombie if Noddy is on which I don't think is that great really. Now she's 21 months and will pester me to get out her play dough for ages, then sit and play with it for about a minute before being instantly uninterested! Maybe yours will go the other way and get more attention as he gets older.
