Hi all my little fella is 9 months old and HUNGRY all the time! He has 5 8oz bottles a day, and 10oz bottle at bed. He has 3 meals a day both blw and me feeding him. He's 12.5kg and 98th percentile for height and weight.
I cannot seem to keep his hunger satisfied. Any tips?

Hi chick!
All a weaned baby should have, milk wise is around 20oz (or between 18 and 20 is fine) along with three meals a day. I can't imagine how stressed you are but little one is having way, way too much. Don't worry there will be a way to sort this!

Please don't think I'm being patronising, but what hunger signs is he giving? What is it that he's doing that indicates he is hungry a lot?

Between 18 and 21 I meant to say!

What are his meals? What are you giving him in terms of solids? That's a lot of milk.

The 20floz thing is a minimum. Some babies will need more.

Are you giving him plenty of protein as well as his milk?

I will check with the health visitors next week about what is right for him too as he's a big (long) boy wears 18-24 month clothes.

Hungry signs, we have been going to baby sign language classes since he was a few weeks old. So he makes the signs for either food or milk. He also cries alot, and I can hear is tummy growling.

Meals consist of carbs protein and fruit/veg.
Protein will be yogurt, cheese, pureed meats or fish like cottage pie, fish pie. He will get steamed chicken so easy to eat without choking.
I try to make home made, but will often use Ella's kitchen 7 month or 10 month old pouches plus finger food to nibble on. He now drinks water so has water with his meals too

EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic The 20oz may be a minimum but I'm going to say there's no way a 9 month old should be having 50oz milk and three meals a day. Unless of course it can be usual and then I apologise!

That's really strange OP if he's using sign language he definitely knows what he wants! Do you think it might be worth a trip to the doctors? It seems he's just not getting full and it could be down to a medical condition? He shouldn't be constantly hungry although he may need slightly more than 20oz he shouldn't be having 50oz on top of three meals. It's just a bit worrying that his brain may not be sending "full" signals to the stomach.

Then again there is a chance he just has a large appetite! Hoping so but I'd get it checked out as he doesn't seem to be able to properly fill himself up! Wishing you lots of luck! Flowers
