DS showing no interest in wiggling loose tooth. Should I be encouraging him to do it?

DS (6) has a loose front tooth. About 6 months ago he said it was sore but the dentist said it was fine - just likely that it was starting to come loose. About 3 months later I checked it when we were brushing his teeth and it had a real wobble. However- he never wobbles it! Should I be promoting him to move it or does it do no harm to stay in? I should add that the tooth is about half the length of his other front tooth as he snapped it off falling off his bike, so it doesn't really get as much natural chewing action as his other one. Thanks in advance!
