Playing with their willies...

My 2 year old DS can't keep his hands of his willy. I don't mind so much at home (except when we had company round and he reached his hands in his nappy in full view of everyone) but often when we're out he'll be playing with it and announce that it is 'big' (when he has an erection). How can I explain to him that it is okay in private at him but not okay outside?

Also, my other DS who is two years older doesn't seem to touch anymore, he likes pulling his pants down and 'humping' his soft toys. Again, I've stressed to him that his penis is okay to play with at home in his room, but sometimes he will make his toys smell a bit smelly because his area may not completely clean, and I need to keep washing them.

Any suggestions? (I hope this doesn't sound like some stupid ramblings, but I don't know what to do)

i'm afraid this may go on for some time. mine were not a problem when little, but my 7 year old last week awarded his willy stickers for good behaviour (no guesses where he put the stickers). i would probably try a reward chart - although that may raise the issue further - it depends whether you feel it has gone too far.

DS1 says "du dye ee ee" whenever he sees his/someone elses- which is rather embarrassing for dh when he'd getting him changed for swimming. Typical isn't it- can't say yes or no, the few things he can say are completely incomprehensible except "du dye ee ee" which he says in inappropriate places.

Thank you for responses. I have decided to ignore their behaviour at home, and if they do it outside to let them know that they should wait till they get home before doing it.

I did this two days ago on a shopping trip, and about twenty minutes after telling DS1 to wait until till we were home, he piped up 'Mummy, can we pleeease go home soon, I really want to play with my penis'.
