So past couple of weeks ds has started to scream really really loud ( especially when we're in shops) it's so embarrassing for me that I just want to drop everything and go home!! He's started to also misbehave, I used to tell him to carry out simple instructions (tidy toys, sit down, hold my hand when going for a walk) but now he doesn't do any of these & just point blank refuses by moving his head side to side (meaning no) is this normal? Terrible 2s? So confused...

Very, very normal. And will probably get more so as he heads towards three. I think you just have to be firm but gentle when you need to get something done/need him to do something. They are busy developing all their own ideas about what they want to do and when with none of the understanding of why x or y can't happen right then, or why they have to do z.

The loud screaming is another normal phase I'm afraid! Just because they can! Toddlers - joyful, baffling, infuriating.

Thanks Sue

Got a very close family members wedding coming up in July, really don't know how I'm going to cope Confused

Have you got a partner who will be with you? I was bridesmaid to my sister when ds1 was just 2, DH was on duty to extract him (and newborn DD!) from the ceremony if either were noisy.
