Hi,
My daughter is a month old and for the past two weeks is unable to sleep on her in the daytime. She wants to be carried and walked to sleep all the time.
I suffer from a spinal disc prolapse and she is nearly 4.5Kgs and growing and getting too heavy for me to carry. I sometimes have to wear a neck collar.
If I try and put her down and cuddle her she screams the place down and any amount of carrying later just get her into a hysteric crying and makes her and me upset.

I did a search on the site and saw people suggesting CC-- what is CC.. and how can I train my poor daughter to sleep on a bed without being carried all over the place.
HELP.

you can't do CC with a baby under 6 months and even after 6 months it can be frowned upon by many people

how would you feel about lying down on the couch or bed .. putting your baby on your chest and watching some tv whilst she sleeps .. would that be acceptable for your back?

There are many different ways to help a baby to sleep.
You could try swaddling in a light sheet very young babies sometimes find this comforting.(beware baby getting hot)

Could you use a baby carrier of some sort there are different ones that your back may cope with.

A rocking seat for baby to sleep in.

Or just enjoy the excuse to watch daytime telly and cuddle your beautiful new baby,to heck with the housework these times fly by far to quickly.

Enlist some help from family and friends the opportunity to cuddle a baby to sleep they would be glad to help out.

Cuddling your baby to sleep at this young age is not going to cause sleep problems later. This stage should be short lived.

Or you do the cuddling and they do the housework.

Thanks Twiglett and Cass.
I will try putting her in a baby bojrn and walking around. But am afraid she might get habituated to that.
Agree with the cuddling thing.. you cant spoil them at this age.
thanks
