7 mo seems to be getting either angry of frustrated

hi

my 7 mo dd seems to be going through a phase (hopefully), she seems to be getting either angry or frustrated with everything. she doesnt seem to be happy unless she's out and about in her stroller.

when i give her toys to play with she ends up screaming at them and i've noticed several times that she's sitting there shaking her head and letting out loud aaahhh's as though she's having a tantrum!

is this anything to worry about or just normal?

i'm a first time mom and really not sure if this is usual or not (none of my other friends babies seem to do this).

is she tired and crotchety?

My 6 mo old is doing this too - your dd might be bored - remember they're always one step ahead of us and maybe what youre doing to entertain her just doesnt cut it anymore! They are learning machines. Try putting her in new places with new things to play with. (rotate toys so there's always something 'new' to play with)Or just go out more...

she's not tired at the moment and she's doing it, although saying that i have been having great difficulty in getting her to have daytime naps (night time she is fantastic sleeps 6.30 - 7.00). she's also cut 2 bottom teeth so not sure if it's the teething, she's sat on my lap at the moment and is happy but if i sit her down to play with her toys this is when she starts doing it - could it be just for attention?

i do take her out every day usually in the afternoon to get her to sleep.

i'm just concerned with the had shaking and screaming.

My dd2 is 7 mo too. She now shouts at me if I don't fetch her from bed quick enough. If she loses her toys and can't reach them. If I don't feed her her food fast enough. If I ignore her for too long, (when I'm busy, not being neglectful) and the fuss when I put her in her pushchair, and then (god forbid) don't leave the house immediately, leaving her in a static pushchair for half a min.

Seems normal to me.

She could be going thru a clingy stage. DD2 will scream if I leave her in the presence of someone she's not totally familiar with.

If its just a couple of days, I tend to find that DD comes down with cold straight after. Its the preparatory crappy stage normally.

bandofmothers - that sounds exactly like my dd.

joorla - is she crawling yet? DS1 was a bit like this before he started walking - it was as if he realised there was more to life but couldn't yet do it - tears of frustration, in other words.

BandofMothers · 13/03/2007 11:28

It's normal. They are always trying to do the next thing. Get annoyed when they can't. They want yuor attention when you can't give it. Don't worry.
