nursery or not?

I'm thinking about starting my 14mo daughter in nursery for a couple of afternoons per week. I've no doubt that she'll love it, she's very friendly, independant and outgoing and loves exploring. But she's also a very laid back, quiet, gentle and kind little girl and I'm worried that this could all change if she starts going to nursery?

I'd be interested to hear others experiences if you started your toddler at nursery around this age please. Thank you!

Why do you think it will change her personality??

I know it won't change her personality, she is what she is. And I guess I've answered my own question there. I was just thinking about a friends little girl who has recently started nursery and seems to now be very full of herself, serious attitude, snatching, screaming, chucking things about etc. I know it may just be her age but she wasn't like that before she started nursery so I wondered whether others had experienced the same? Don't get me wrong, I'm not against nursery in any way, I'm just curious x

I'm not sure why you are thinking of putting your dd in nursery unless you need to work? I am old fashioned but i believe that children 0 -3 need one to one with an adult who gives them unconditional love. Those years are the most important in their whole life as they lay the foundation for the rest of their life. I think once a child is 3 a few hours a week at nursery is fine to help them mix with other children. They don't need that at 14 months.

I'm against nursery I'm afraid - it's institutional care and that type of care is not good for any age. I'm not knocking nursery workers though I think many of them would not choose to be in that job if there were options. I think a good childminder is better than a nursery.
