Helping dd 10 years old to make friends

So my dd is an only child, she has one friend at school that she really likes to play with, she is friendly with other children in her class but only plays with her one friend.

She also doesn't have many friends out of school (only my children's friends).

I think I would like to put her into some clubs to help her make her own group of friends as she recently started saying she doesn't have many friends etc and I feel like it could be my fault as I don't mix with the mums at the school really (I'm much younger than them and felt very young when she first started school so kept to myself).

So what kind of clubs would you suggest? I have contacted brownies so that could be a good start! Any other suggestions?

Well it's up to your DD really. I'd have said Drama as it tends to attract a lot of kids that are a bit misfitty (in the nicest possible way- I was one!) but if she's a shrinking violet then that might be absolute hell for her.
