The latest of the list of 'girlie' things my ds has learnt from coppying mummy...

my ds is 2.2. Just walked into the bathroom to see what he was doing.

He had opened my last 2 tampons, taken his nappy off and was prodding his willy with them trying to stick them somewhere!

He gets my bras out the drawer and puts them on, wears my shoes and bags constantly around the house, gets my make up out and even uses the proper brushes to apply the make up to his face.

He doesn't see his dad and apart from my dp who he doesn't see very often he has no man in his life to show him 'man' things.

Is this going to effect him as he grows up?

i have a DH , but works very long hours, so DS never sees him getting ready !!

so when he was a similar age, he used to sit at the dressing table with me , brush his hair, put a slide in it, fluff his cheeks with the blusher brush and examine his reflection !

he also used to push a buggy round with a doll, and carry bags , but he has grown out of it

at nursery he seemed to get more involved with boys stuff and now at 7 1/2, he is a boys boy and would be mortified that he ever used to pretend to put make up on !!

does he have a grandad or uncle or another male role model he could spend some time with ?

Wouldn't have thought so, no. He sounds adorable. He's just exploring the world around him. My 3.5 yr old likes bags and playing with my make up too. I just have to make sure I keep foundation and mascara well hidden1

My ds is 23 months and he is with me all the time. He puts on make up and does his hair when I do. He uses a tampon as a lipstick!! Please try not to worry juicychops, I think this is normal behaviour

Oh good! Ive never told him 'dont do that' because he's not doing anything wrong but i do say make up is for girls and tampons are for mummys

He'll be going nursery soon so hopefully he'll get more into boys things then

It is so funny watching him do all these things as he gets really into it especially with the shoes and bags bless him.

I keep my mascara well hidden too edam! He covered himself in mascara and nail varnish once and it wasn't a pretty sight
